Catie Young is a co-founder and partner at Griffith & Young, where she has dedicated her entire legal career to family law. For over a decade, she has represented clients throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties, handling complex divorce, custody, and support matters with skill and compassion.
Certified by the State Bar of California as a Family Law Specialist, Catie brings a deep understanding of the legal and emotional complexities of family law cases. She earned her B.A. in Political Science from U.C. Santa Barbara before obtaining her Juris Doctor from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. During law school, she gained valuable hands-on experience as a practicing intern and extern, focusing on dependency court matters.
Catie’s passion for child advocacy has been a driving force in her career. As a former Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), she developed a strong commitment to protecting the rights and well-being of children. This dedication continues in her role as Minor’s Counsel, where she is regularly appointed by the court to represent children in high-conflict custody cases. She collaborates closely with therapists, conjoint therapists, and custody evaluators to ensure that children’s best interests remain the priority. In 2024, she served as a panel presenter for the Minor’s Counsel Seminar, sharing her expertise with fellow professionals.
Known for her exceptional litigation skills and strategic approach, Catie is a respected advocate in the courtroom. Her frequent court appearances provide her with unique insight into judicial perspectives, allowing her to effectively navigate both trial and settlement negotiations.
Beyond her legal work, Catie is an active member of her community. She is involved with the Junior League of San Diego and serves on the PTA Exacutice Board for her daughter’s school, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to service and leadership.
